NUTELLA BRAIDED STAR


MAHITAJI/INGREDIENTS

1.Unga wa Ngano Vikombe 4
  4 Cups Plain Purpose Flour

2.Maziwa ya maji Kikombe 1
 1 Cup Milk

3.Mayai 2
 2 Eggs

4.Hamira Vijiko vya Chakula 2
 2 Tbsp Yeast

5.Siagi Vijiko 2
 2 Tbsp Butter

6.Sukari Nusu Kikombe
 ½ Cup Sugar

7.Chumvi Kiduchu
 Pinch of Salt

7.Chocolate ya Nutella Kikombe 1
 1 Cup Nutella Chocolate

MAANDALIZI/PREPARATIONS

1.Changanya maziwa(hakikisha yawe ya uvugu uvugu),hamira,unga kijiko kimoja na sukari kijiko 1 koroga na acha mchanganyiko huo kwa dakika 10 ufure
  Mix warm milk,yeast,one table spoon of sugar and flour and dissolve all ingredients.Let it sit for 10 minutes to activate.

2.Chunga unga kwenye bakuli na kisha toa nusu kikombe cha unga weka pembeni kwa ajili ya kusukumia utakao bakia changanya na vitu vyote vikavu vilobakia yaani unga,sukari na chumvi
  In a large bowl,sift the flour through a sieve. And remove half cup of the flour and keep aside so as to use it for sprinkling .Then combine the dry ingredients remained; flour,sugar and salt.

3.Vunja mayai toa viini weka pembeni
  Separate egg yolks from egg whites.

4.Kisha weka viini,siagi na hamira ilioumuka kwenye bakuli lenye mchanganyiko wa unga.
  Add butter,egg yolks and yeast in the bowl with dry ingredients

5.Chukua mwiko changanya unga wako vizuri
  Mix everything with a wooden spoon.

6.Kanda unga wako kiasi cha dakika 7
  Knead the dough for about 7 minutes

7.Ukipata donge laini weka kwenye bakuli funika kwa kitambaa kisafi au plastic wrap katika sehemu ya joto na acha kiasi cha nusu saa au mpaka liumuke  vizuri.
  Once you get smooth dough,put it into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap or cloth and let it rise for around 30 minutes or till double in size.

8.Nyunyiza unga sehemu ya kusukumia donge na weka donge lako hapo
   Place the dough on a lightly floured surface.

9.Likande donge lako kiasi cha dakika moja kasha ligawe sehemu 4
   Knead the dough for around 1 minutes and divide into 4 equal parts.

10.Chukua donge moja  sukuma katika umbo la chapati ila iwe na upana utakaozidi sahani
   Roll the first of four parts into circle the dough should be wider more then the size of plate.

11.Kisha chukua karatasi ya kuokea na weka lichapati lako juu ya ile karatasi.
   Place the dough circle on a piece of baking paper

12.Chukua sahani weka juu ya chapati yako kisha kata sehemu zilozidi ibakie chapati yenye usawa wa sahani
  Take a plate and keep it on top of the circle and mark it to get the circle having same shape as your plate.Cut the excess dough with a knife

13.Chukua Nutella kisha pakaa kwenye duara lako vizuri hakikisha inaenea kote
   Cover the marked area with thin layer of chocolate spread.

14.Sukuma donge jengine,na uliweke juu ya lile lenye nutella kisha ondoa sehemu zilozidi ili liwe sawa na lile la mwanzo na pakaa nutella kama ulivyopaka la mwanzo
   Roll another layer of dough,place iton the previous one and mark off the plate on it.Then put the chocolate spread on the marked area.

15.Sukuma donge la tatu na rudia hatua zile zile tulizofanya kwa chapati ya kwanza na ya pili
   Repeat the procedure with the third dough.

16.Sukuma donge lilobakia weka juu ya chapati tatu za mwanzo na weka sahani upate ukubwa sawa na zile za mwanzo
  Roll the last dough into circle and put it on the previous layers and cover it with a plate.Cut the excess dough with a knife

17.Chukua glasi ndogo weka kati kati ya chapati yako ya juu
   Using a small keep it at the center of those circle.

18.Pasua chapati zako sehemu nne sawa kisha pasua tena upate vipande nane  endelea kupasua hadi upate vipande 16 kumbuka unapasua bila kuitoa glasi yako pale kati
  Divide the layers into quaters ,start cutting from the marked circle without removing the glass at the center.Divide the quarter into eight .At the end you should have 16 equal parts.

19.Kamata vipande viwili kati ya 16 tumia mikono yote miwili na vizungushe mara mbili katika muelekeo tofauti ,kimoja kizungushe kielekee kulia kingine kielekee kushoto. 
  Take two parts of the 16 in both hands and delicately twist them in opposite directions.

20.Rudia kuzungusha kwa vipande 14 vilivyobakia mpaka upate umbo kama kwenye picha hio chini
   Repeat with all pairs to form eight armed star

21.Ufunike sehemu ya joto acha uumuke kiasi cha dakika 10
  Cover it and let it rise around for 10 minutes

22.Chukua ute wa yai upige pige kisha pakaa juu ya mkate wako
  Brush the surface of the bread with egg white   




JINSI YA KUPIKA/HOW TO COOK
1.Oka mkate wako kwa moto wa 180’C, kiasi cha dakika 15 mpaka 20
  Bake at 180’C for around 15 to 20 minutes

2.Ukiona unapiga rangi ya dhahabu utoe kwenye jiko
 When turn to golden colour remove from the oven

3.Acha upoe tayari kula na kinywaji upendacho.
  Let it cool serve with any drinks you prefer
